In the late summer of 2016, the life of Jerome Pippins, a 42-year-old Black/African American man, was tragically cut short in Huntington, West Virginia. On August 11, 2016, Pippins, who was originally from the Bronx, New York, was found dead, a victim of gun violence. His death left a void in the lives of his family, including his five children and numerous siblings.
