In the early hours of Sunday, February 20, 2005, the life of 30-year-old Michelle Denise Proud, a female resident of Clinton, Iowa, was tragically cut short. Just after midnight, as she was leaving her job as a radiology technician at Mercy Medical Center, she was discovered in her car in the hospital's parking lot, bleeding from a gunshot wound.
