In the small town of Bayard, Iowa, a community of 550 people where violent crime was a rarity, the life of 37-year-old Kimberly Ann Ormsby Johnson, a female, came to a tragic end on April 30, 2007. A former resident of Auburn, Maine, Kimberly had moved to Bayard only a month prior, seeking a fresh start after filing for divorce from her estranged husband. This move, however, did not provide the safety she likely sought.
