In the early morning hours of August 9, 2012, the life of 32-year-old Crystal Marie Johnson Newman, a White/Caucasian female, came to a tragic end in her Burlington, Iowa, home. Responding to a welfare check prompted by reports of a domestic dispute, police officers were forced to enter the locked residence.
