On a cold January day in 2014, the life of Rodney Houston, a 32-year-old Black / African American man, was tragically cut short in Sioux City, Iowa. On the 25th of that month, Houston was discovered lying in a driveway, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his chest. Despite receiving immediate medical attention, he succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.
