On a late summer evening in Burlington, Iowa, the life of 35-year-old Virgue Leonardo Orr, a Black / African American male, was tragically cut short. On August 19, 2015, police and paramedics responded to a call shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 600 block of South Central Avenue. There, in the backyard of a residence, they found Orr suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body. He was rushed to the Great River Medical Center, but his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead ...
