In the small town of Algona, Iowa, a heart-wrenching event unfolded on July 5, 2021, ending the life of 3-year-old Seth Phelon, a Caucasian male. On that Monday evening, at 7:51 p.m., the Algona Police Department received a 911 call that led them to a home at 418 South Harlan Street. Inside, a tragic scene awaited the first responders. They discovered the bodies of Seth, his 6-year-old brother Logan, and their 32-year-old father, Christopher Phelon.
An investigation was promptly launched
by local and state authorities, including the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. Autopsies conducted by the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner brought a grim clarity to the events. It was determined that both Seth and Logan died as a result of gunshot wounds, and their deaths were ruled as homicides. The investigation concluded that their father, Christopher, was the perpetrator of the violence against his children.
