On August 17, 2015, in West Valley City, Utah, police responded to a call at 3488 S. Park Vista Drive around 5:30 a.m. Inside the residence, they discovered the bodies of Monica Tapia and her husband, Francisco Javier Tapia, both 51 years old, each with fatal gunshot wounds. The couple's teenage son had called the authorities after finding a note from his father.
