In the summer of 2004, the life of 36-year-old Trupti Patel, a woman of Southwest Asian descent, came to a tragic and violent end in East Hartford, Connecticut. On July 9, 2004, her husband reported her missing when he returned home from his overnight shift and found that she was not there, though her car was in the parking lot of their apartment complex.
