On the evening of August 21, 2024, in a quiet East Hartford, Connecticut neighborhood, 54-year-old Upma Sharma of Southwest Asian descent, who was born and raised in Punjab, India, was tragically killed in her home. Police responded to the residence on Hilltop Farms Lane at approximately 10:30 p.m. after receiving a call from a concerned out-of-state family member.
