On July 20, 2008, at approximately 2:10 a.m., 15-year-old Jakeem J. Tully was fatally shot outside a 24-hour convenience store at 485 Albany Avenue in Hartford, Connecticut. Jakeem was standing with a group of young men when a vehicle drove by, and an occupant fired several shots, striking Jakeem twice—once in the left bicep and once in the left side of his chest.
