On January 20, 2014, 20-year-old Durrell Patrick Law was fatally shot during a robbery near the Fairways Apartments on Eastern Street in New Haven, Connecticut. Law, a former high school athlete and father of a young child, was approached by a group of individuals who attempted to rob him. During the confrontation, he was shot in the chest and succumbed to his injuries.
