On a cold afternoon in New Haven, Connecticut, on January 20, 2014, the life of a 20-year-old Black / African American male named Durrell Patrick Law was tragically cut short. Law was in the parking lot of the Fairways Apartments on Eastern Street when he was shot in the chest around 1 p.m. He stumbled into the street where a passer-by in a vehicle stopped and tried to help him, but his injury was too severe.
