On the evening of October 21, 2015, at approximately 10:16 p.m., Hartford police responded to reports of gunfire at 7 Cherry Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 19-year-old Ricardo Rivera lying near the entrance of the residence, unresponsive from a gunshot wound to the head. He was immediately transported to St. Francis Hospital, where he was placed on life support. Tragically, Rivera succumbed to his injuries the following day, marking Hartford's 28th homicide of the year.
