On a spring evening in Waterbury, Connecticut, the life of 24-year-old Corey Dawson, a Black/African American male from Windsor, was cut tragically short. The events of April 11, 2016, began with a physical altercation involving Dawson and a group of other men outside a bodega on Charles Street. What started as a confrontation quickly escalated, spilling out into the streets as both parties retreated to their vehicles.
