On October 18, 2016, 21-year-old Muhanad "Momo" Jawad was fatally shot inside his business, E&M Smoke Shop, located at 545 Ferry Street in New Haven, Connecticut. The incident occurred around 1:36 p.m., when an assailant entered the store and shot Jawad. Emergency responders transported him to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly before 2 p.m.
