On the late evening of June 22, 2020, a 52-year-old Black male named Wayne Canute Woolcock was fatally shot in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The incident occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. when police were dispatched to the vicinity of 750 William Street following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival, officers discovered Woolcock suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was rushed to Bridgeport Hospital for medical attention but ultimately succumbed to his injuries a short time later.
