In a tragic turn of events that shook the community of New London, Connecticut, 18-year-old Arisleidy Batista, a young Hispanic female, was killed on the evening of January 26, 2022. The incident unfolded in an apartment on Granite Street, where police and firefighters responded to reports of gunfire and a fire around 8 p.m. Inside the burning apartment, first responders made a grim discovery: the bodies of Batista and her 20-year-old boyfriend, Nikeuri Rodriguez.
