Marvin Keyes, a 33-year-old African American male from Chicago, Illinois, succumbed to gunshot wounds on September 22, 2016, nearly a month after being shot in the city's West Town neighborhood. He had been hospitalized since the shooting incident, which occurred on August 26, 2016. Notably, prior to this incident, Keyes had been acquitted in the murder of a postal worker.
