On a Sunday evening in Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 28-year-old Deangelo Boyd was cut short by gunfire. The incident unfolded on September 6, 2015, in the 9800 block of Wilderness Road, marking the city's 21st homicide of that year. When police responded to the scene, they discovered Boyd lying in the street with gunshot wounds. Despite the efforts of emergency medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Another man, 29-year-old Bobby Anderson, was also struck by the
gunfire. Anderson was transported to a local hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Witnesses at the scene reported that an older model brown Chevrolet Caprice had pulled up, and a man emerged from the vehicle and began shooting at Boyd and Anderson.
The investigation into the shooting led police to 24-year-old Randell Perkins. Perkins became a person of interest after he sought medical treatment for a knee wound at a local hospital on the same day as the shooting. Following his arrest, Perkins was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Deangelo Boyd. He also faced charges of first-degree battery for the injuries sustained by Bobby Anderson and a failure to appear on a traffic warrant. Deangelo Boyd was a father and a resident of Little Rock.
