In the summer of 2017, a dispute that began on social media tragically escalated, ending the life of 28-year-old Deandre Love. On the evening of Saturday, June 10th, in Blytheville, Arkansas, Love was at the Sunbath Car wash on South Division Street when he was shot multiple times.

First responders arrived at the scene around 7:15 p.m. to find Love lying in a car wash bay next to a vehicle, suffering from critical gunshot wounds. He was quickly airlifted to a hospital in Memphis for urgent medical care, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.

The investigation into the shooting led police to Travis Lamar Reed. Authorities discovered that Reed and Love had been engaged in an argument on Facebook in the days leading up to the fatal confrontation. While Reed admitted to the online dispute with Love, he denied being the one who shot him.

Following his arrest, Travis Lamar Reed appeared in court in Mississippi County on Monday, June 12, 2017. A judge formally charged him with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm in connection with the death of Deandre Love. His bond was set at $500,000.
