In Fort Smith, Arkansas, on a December day in 2017, a young man named Dylan Stancoff, aged 23, lost his life. His death occurred inside an apartment where a confrontation turned fatal. The series of events that led to this tragic outcome began when Stancoff forcibly entered the residence of a woman named Krissy Noble. At the time of the incident, Noble was at home while Stancoff was reportedly looking for her husband, who was not present.
Faced with an intruder in her home, Krissy Noble,
who also used the name Krissy Tran, used a firearm to shoot Stancoff. The single gunshot proved to be fatal, and Stancoff died at the scene. When law enforcement investigated the shooting, the case was eventually handed over to the Sebastian County Prosecutor's Office to determine if any charges would be filed against Noble.
After a thorough review of the evidence and the circumstances surrounding the shooting, the county prosecutor deemed that Noble had acted in self-defense. Consequently, she was not charged with any crime related to the death of Dylan Stancoff, as the shooting was ruled to be justified. Following the investigation into Stancoff's death, however, authorities discovered that Noble was a convicted felon and was therefore prohibited from possessing a firearm. This led to her facing charges for criminal possession of a firearm, a separate legal matter from the shooting itself.
