In the late hours of a Sunday evening in Little Rock, Arkansas, tragedy struck, leaving two young lives extinguished and a community searching for answers. On March 18, 2018, police responded to a call of a shooting at the corner of South Oak and West 21st streets. Upon arrival at 10:38 p.m., they discovered a vehicle that had veered off the road, coming to a stop between two houses in the 2100 block of Oak Street.
Inside the vehicle, officers found 22-year-old Nathan Sullivan and
another individual, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Nathan, a male, was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim, 21-year-old Cierria Onukwube, was rushed to a nearby hospital, but she later succumbed to her injuries. The incident marked the city's eighth and ninth homicides of the year.
In the wake of the double homicide, the Little Rock police began their investigation into the fatal shooting. However, details regarding a potential motive or any persons of interest were not immediately available.
