In the late summer of 2019, the life of 39-year-old Cory Terrance Gibson was tragically cut short in Hot Springs, Arkansas. On September 23rd, police responded to a call about a shooting on Chapel Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Gibson, who had sustained a fatal gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the male victim quickly led authorities to a person of interest.
Hot Springs police identified 41-year-old Vincent Barnard Louis as a suspect in the homicide. A warrant for first-degree murder was issued for his arrest, and the public was cautioned that he should be considered armed and dangerous.
The search for Louis came to an end when the Garland County Sheriff's Department announced his arrest on October 2, 2019. Louis was subsequently charged with the first-degree murder of Cory Gibson. He was then held in the Garland County Detention Center on a $250,000 bond.
