In the late summer evening of Wednesday, August 24, 2022, police in Jonesboro, Arkansas, were called to a residence on the 200 block of East Johnson Avenue to conduct a welfare check. Upon their arrival at 7:30 p.m., what they discovered inside the home was a scene of tragedy. A 44-year-old Hispanic male, Gonzalo Mazariegos-Ramos, was found deceased. The initial assessment of the scene prompted the Jonesboro Police Department to seek the expertise of the Arkansas State Police.
