Malicki Dameon Pizanowski, a 21-year-old male, tragically lost his life on Friday, March 19, 2021, in an incident that unfolded in Independence County, Arkansas. The event that led to his death began with a heated domestic dispute between Trey Allen Warner and his wife at their mobile home on Caney Creek Road. The argument escalated, and Warner’s wife went outside with two of their three children.
The altercation continued outdoors, drawing the attention of men from a neighboring
residence, including Malicki Pizanowski. As the neighbors became involved, demanding that Warner release the third child who remained inside, the situation intensified. According to Warner’s account to the police, he felt threatened when one man picked up a shovel and Pizanowski, who was unknown to him, began to approach him aggressively.
In response, Warner retrieved a 9mm handgun from his bedroom. He claimed that as he stepped back outside, he tripped on the doorframe, causing the handgun to accidentally discharge, striking Pizanowski. Warner maintained that he did not intend to shoot anyone and only retrieved the weapon to scare the men away.
However, Warner's wife provided a conflicting account to investigators. She stated that her husband went back inside the residence and emerged with the pistol, pointed it at Pizanowski, and then the gun went off. Police found no evidence that Pizanowski was armed at the time of the shooting. Trey Allen Warner was subsequently arrested and charged with first-degree murder.
