In the fall of 2023, the life of Bruce Wayne Radak, a 26-year-old White / Caucasian male from Conway, Arkansas, was tragically cut short. Radak, born on January 6, 1997, in Conway, worked as a machine operator for the Arkansas Box Company. His life, however, came to a violent end on or around October 12, 2023, due to gun violence. His passing left behind his wife, Jennifer Newman Radak, and their three children, Trinity, Avery, and Blaire.
The circumstances surrounding Radak's death led
to a homicide investigation that pointed to a suspect. In the months that followed, law enforcement identified 19-year-old Mikael Yates in connection with the case. On February 12, 2024, the Faulkner County Sheriff's Office announced that Yates had been charged with capital murder for the death of Radak. This was not the only serious charge against Yates, who was already facing a capital murder charge from a separate incident in December 2023.
Mikael Yates remains in custody at the Faulkner County Detention Center, awaiting court appearances for the two capital murder charges, as well as additional counts of residential burglary and theft of property. The investigation into Radak's death and the subsequent charges against Yates highlighted the issue of gun violence in the Conway area. While the legal proceedings against the accused are ongoing, the family of Bruce Wayne Radak held funeral services on October 20, 2023, at the Woodrow Church of Christ in Vilonia, Arkansas, before he was laid to rest at Beryl Cemetery.
