On a tragic night in Conway, Arkansas, the life of 26-year-old Raekwon Hull was cut short. On January 21, 2023, Hull and another man, 25-year-old Derek Palmer, were fatally shot on Lucille Street in a violent encounter that would be investigated as a double homicide.
Raekwon, a Conway native born on May 22, 1996, was known for his contagious smile and genuine, humble nature. A 2014 graduate of Conway High School, he went on to attend Central Baptist College. His family and friends remember him as a spiritual young man with a great sense of humor who loved his family deeply. He had a passion for sports, music, and the country lifestyle.
In the days following the double homicide, the Conway Police Department launched an intensive investigation. Their efforts quickly led to the identification of several suspects. Authorities arrested 19-year-old Dashaun Jordan Jones and 18-year-old Kaylon Ravine, charging both with two counts of capital murder for their alleged involvement in the deaths of Hull and Palmer.
The search for a third suspect, 18-year-old Tracey Patton Jr., was also announced, with law enforcement agencies, including the U.S. Marshals, asking for the public's help in locating him. Patton was also wanted on two counts of capital murder and was described as armed and dangerous. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deadly shooting continued as the community mourned the loss of two young men.
