On a summer afternoon in North Little Rock, Arkansas, the life of 34-year-old Joshua Matthew Edward Olscwa was tragically cut short. On July 7, 2021, Olscwa, a male resident of Jacksonville, was fatally shot in the 10000 block of Mundo Road. The sound of a single gunshot prompted a neighbor to alert authorities, leading to the discovery of the fatal incident.
The following day, the Pulaski County Sheriff's Office announced an arrest in connection with the shooting.
Brandy Copeland, 30 years old at the time, was taken into custody and charged with first-degree murder and possession of a firearm. Authorities did not immediately release details regarding a potential motive or the relationship between Olscwa and Copeland.
Joshua, who was survived by his wife, three children, and a large extended family, was remembered as a caring individual with a big heart and an even bigger smile.
