On September 15, 2021, at approximately 3:30 p.m., Little Rock police responded to a report of a "shooting in progress" at a residence on Nichols Road. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of 32-year-old Shunterris Salter and her 8-year-old son, JaMichael Terrell Petty, both deceased from gunshot wounds.
