On December 5, 2021, at approximately 1:31 p.m., Pine Bluff police responded to a shooting incident at 1501 W. 25th Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered 27-year-old Mari Martin lying in the street with apparent gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to Jefferson Regional Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries. This incident marked the 27th homicide in Pine Bluff for the year 2021.
