In the early morning hours of January 8, 2022, the city of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, was disturbed by violence that would claim the life of 55-year-old Calvin Lee Kirklin Sr. His body was discovered inside a vehicle on West 10th Avenue around 2:45 a.m., the result of a fatal shooting. This tragic event marked the second homicide in the city in a single night, leaving the community reeling and law enforcement with a pressing investigation.
The Pine Bluff Police Department quickly began
working to piece together the events that led to Kirklin's death. Their efforts led to a significant breakthrough ten days later. On January 18, 2022, detectives arrested three suspects in connection with the homicide. The individuals taken into custody were 22-year-old Steven Grady, 22-year-old Roderick Marks, and 18-year-old Rahn Clay.
