In the autumn of 1987, the life of a 16-year-old American girl named Deanna Lee Criswell came to a tragic end in the Arizona desert. A runaway from Washington state, Criswell's journey had brought her to Tucson, a path that would ultimately lead to her untimely death. Her body was discovered on November 25, 1987, in a culvert in Marana, having been shot multiple times.
