In the fall of 2013, a quiet townhouse complex in Phoenix, Arizona, became the scene of a tragic and violent event that claimed the life of 66-year-old Bruce Moore and three generations of his family. On the morning of October 26th, a dispute over the barking of the family's dogs escalated into a horrific act of violence at the hands of their next-door neighbor.
The gunman, 56-year-old Michael Dante Guzzo, used a pump-action shotgun to fatally shoot Bruce Moore, his 36-year-old daughter Renee Moore, her 42-year-old husband Michael Moore, and their 17-year-old son, Shannon Moore.
The brutal attack didn't spare the family's two dogs, who were also killed in the rampage. According to reports, Guzzo had a history of complaining about noise from neighborhood pets and had even posted fliers regarding pet ordinances. On that Saturday morning, his frustration boiled over with deadly consequences. After killing the Moore family, Guzzo reportedly fired shots at another neighbor's door before returning to his own home.
The tragic event concluded with the suspect, Michael Dante Guzzo, taking his own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Police found him deceased inside his residence, bringing a grim end to the violent outburst. As the perpetrator was deceased, there were no arrests to be made in connection with the quadruple murder-suicide that shattered the peace of the Phoenix community and left a family devastated.
