On November 28, 2024, a tragic shooting occurred at a residence in the 600 block of Potomac Street on San Antonio's East Side, resulting in the death of 24-year-old La Vontay La Maurea Drummer-Simms. The incident also claimed the life of 27-year-old Devin Lavalais and left two others injured.
