On December 7, 2024, at approximately 7:03 p.m., Fort Worth police responded to a reported disturbance at a residence in the 1400 block of Arbor Ridge Drive, located in East Fort Worth. Upon arrival, officers discovered 40-year-old Aurdie Nelson Evans Jr. deceased inside the home, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that the shooting resulted from a physical altercation between Aurdie and his brother.
The sibling involved in the incident was present at the scene when police arrived and was immediately detained for questioning. Authorities have not publicly disclosed the brother's identity.
Following the incident, the brother was arrested in connection with the shooting. As of December 8, 2024, no formal charges had been announced, and the investigation remained ongoing.
Aurdie Evans was remembered by friends and family as a loving and caring individual. He was an architectural project manager and an alumnus of Dunbar High School and Prairie View A&M University.
Funeral services for Aurdie were held on December 21, 2024, at Johnson Street Christ Holy Sanctified Church in Fort Worth, Texas. He was laid to rest at Greenwood Memorial Park & Cemetery.
