Eduardo Pedroza, a 38-year-old man from Fort Worth, Texas, was tragically found dead on January 9, 2021. He was discovered by a passing motorist on the 5700 block of Teague Road in southeast Tarrant County. The investigation into his death revealed that it was a result of a botched gun sale. Pedroza had arranged to purchase a firearm from Jacoby Jones, a 27-year-old man from Irving. During the transaction, Jones and his accomplices drove away without providing the gun to Pedroza.
In response, Pedroza jumped onto the back of their vehicle, and Jones shot him from the passenger window, killing him instantly.
Following the incident, Tarrant County Investigators swiftly responded and began collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Their efforts led them to Jacoby Jones, who was arrested on January 12, 2021, and charged with capital murder. Jones later pleaded guilty to the murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison. The investigation concluded that Pedroza's death was an isolated incident and did not pose an immediate danger to the public.
