On January 20, 2017, Cyrus Williams, a 19-year-old Black male, was fatally shot in the head in the North Lawndale neighborhood on Chicago’s West Side. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. in the 600 block of South Sacramento Avenue. Williams later arrived at Mount Sinai Hospital and succumbed to his injuries three days later, on January 23, at approximately 1:30 p.m. An autopsy confirmed his death as a homicide resulting from the gunshot wound.
