On December 21, 2024, 19-year-old Carlos Perez was fatally shot while working at an AutoZone store located on Birnham Woods Drive in Spring, Texas. The incident occurred around 9:50 a.m. when a suspect entered the store and shot Perez multiple times before fleeing the scene on foot. No customers were present inside the store at the time, though an individual was in the parking lot.
