On December 22, 2024, at approximately 4 a.m., a fatal shooting occurred inside an unlicensed after-hours club known as "La Diabla," located in a warehouse on Mitchell Road near Airline Drive in north Harris County, Houston, Texas. The incident resulted in the death of 25-year-old Anthony Muniz and left three others injured.
According to the Harris County Sheriff's Office, the altercation began when a suspect was handcuffed and severely beaten inside the establishment.
Following this, shots were fired, leading to the tragic outcome. Three individuals were found injured inside the warehouse, with two suffering gunshot wounds and one possibly assaulted. A fourth person, initially believed to be connected to the scene, was taken to the hospital in a private vehicle, where he was pronounced dead. It was later confirmed that this individual was indeed connected to the incident.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered that the club had been locked, and the operators had fled the scene. Only seven of the approximately 50 people present at the time of the shooting remained to speak with investigators. A trail of blood led deputies to the warehouse, where they forced entry and confirmed there were no other victims. They were awaiting a warrant to collect evidence from the premises.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identity of the shooter remains unknown. Investigators are actively working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify the individual responsible.
