In the small community of Cross, South Carolina, a burst of gunfire on a Tuesday night in late November 2024 shattered the evening calm and ended two young lives. The male victims of the fatal shooting were 16-year-old Shariff King and 25-year-old Kee Juan D. Middleton. The incident, which occurred on November 26, 2024, also left a third individual wounded, adding to the tragedy that unfolded on Spires Landing Road.
When deputies from the Berkeley County Sheriff's Office arrived at the
residence, they discovered a grim scene. Two individuals, later identified as King and Middleton, were found with gunshot wounds and were pronounced dead at the location. The third victim was quickly transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for their injuries. In the immediate aftermath, law enforcement officials began their investigation, focusing on a person of interest as they worked to piece together the events of that fatal evening.
Following the initial investigation, the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office announced that an arrest had been made in connection with the double homicide. Jerome Germaine Robinson, a resident of Cross, was taken into custody. He is facing serious charges for his alleged role in the shooting. The charges brought against Robinson include two counts of murder for the deaths of Shariff King and Kee Juan D. Middleton. Additionally, he has been charged with attempted murder for the injuries sustained by the third victim. Robinson also faces charges of possession of a weapon during a violent crime and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
