Clint Hart, a 45-year-old white man, was killed in his Clarksville, Tennessee, home on the afternoon of Monday, December 16, 2024. The fatal encounter, which authorities described as a domestic-related homicide, took place at a residence on West Creek Drive.
The violence erupted amid a heated argument between Hart and his wife. According to an arrest warrant, a witness recorded a video that showed the couple arguing just before several gunshots were heard and Hart appeared to be shot.
In the moments that followed, Hart’s wife entered a bedroom and asked, “Where’s the gun?” Hart had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was transported to Tennova Healthcare-Clarksville, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
Present in the room during the shooting was 20-year-old Nathan Rodriguez, who was living at the residence and was seen on the video looking extremely emotional. When Clarksville Police Department officers arrived at the scene around 2 p.m., they found Rodriguez standing outside. He immediately identified himself as the shooter and was taken into custody without incident. During questioning, Rodriguez admitted to shooting Hart multiple times.
Rodriguez was arrested and initially charged with first-degree murder. On September 10, 2025, he pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of voluntary manslaughter. He was sentenced to nine years with the Tennessee Department of Corrections, with a requirement to serve one year and the remainder on state probation. As of January 2026, the case was considered closed.
