On a Wednesday evening in Woodward, Oklahoma, the life of Christina Marie Alewine, a 42-year-old female, was cut tragically short. The incident unfolded in the parking lot of a local Walmart on December 4, 2024. Alewine was pronounced dead at the scene, a victim of gun violence.
The violence of that evening also claimed the life of another individual, 81-year-old Gary Wayne Mulbery, who was with Alewine.
He was critically injured during the shooting and was transported by air to OU Health in Oklahoma City. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries later that night. News reports later revealed the profound tragedy that the two victims were father and daughter.
In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement began a search for the person responsible. A suspect, identified as a 30-year-old man from Beaver County, was located and apprehended near a detention pond in the vicinity of Woodward High School. Following his capture, he was questioned by detectives and subsequently booked into the Woodward County Jail. The suspect is now facing two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Christina Alewine and Gary Mulbery.
