On August 22, 2016, she was found deceased in her home from gunshot wounds. The grim discovery was made alongside her 78-year-old husband, Modesto Regalado, who was also deceased.

Belinda, born Belinda Marie Rains on November 15, 1958, in Purcell, was a lifelong resident of the town. She was a graduate of Purcell High School's class of 1977. For many years, she was a familiar face in the community, working in lawn maintenance at the McClain County Courthouse. She was known for her creativity and resourcefulness.
In 1984, she married Modesto, and they made their home on Gross Ventre. Together, they raised their great-nephew. Belinda was remembered for her love of animals, particularly her dogs, and her enjoyment of simple pleasures like sewing, quilting, and baking. Her death, under such devastating circumstances, left a void in the lives of her family and those who knew her.
