On December 4, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., 23-year-old Jaylon Reed was found fatally shot near the intersection of Cole Street and Rhoads Avenue on Columbus, Ohio's Near East Side. Emergency responders transported Reed to OhioHealth Grant Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 11:48 p.m.

Investigators determined that Reed and 19-year-old Andre Franks Jr. were together around 10:30 p.m. on the night of the shooting. At some point during their time together, Franks fired ...
