On the evening of December 1, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 6200 block of South Boulevard, near the Archdale Drive light rail station in south Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Yexon Madrid Perdomo suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
CMPD's Homicide Unit immediately initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding Perdomo's death. Crime Scene Search teams processed the area for physical evidence, while representatives from CMPD’s Operations Command and Victim Services provided support.
