On the evening of December 1, 2024, at approximately 8:00 p.m., Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD) officers responded to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon in the 6200 block of South Boulevard, near the Archdale Drive light rail station in south Charlotte. Upon arrival, they discovered 17-year-old Yexon Madrid Perdomo suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
