In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Bassfield, Mississippi, the sounds of a lively bonfire party with around 200 attendees were pierced by the echo of gunshots. Just after midnight on December 1, 2024, multiple calls alerted the Jefferson Davis County Sheriff's Department to the shooting. When deputies arrived at the gathering on Bassfield Cemetery Road, they found 43-year-old Rodrigus Damario Adams of nearby Carson lying deceased in the driveway.
