In December of 2024, a young man named Jacquez Morris, aged 21, tragically lost his life in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. On Sunday, December 15, 2024, police responded to a call on Country Club Road where they found Morris unresponsive. First responders provided medical aid, but he ultimately succumbed to his injuries at the scene. It was later determined that he died from a gunshot wound.
The investigation into the death of the male victim led to the arrest of several individuals.
Eric Fairley was charged with first-degree murder in connection with the case. Additionally, Lee Willard, Denya Prader, and Maris Tilman were taken into custody and charged with one count of accessory after the fact. Tilman faced an additional charge of tampering with evidence. All four suspects were booked into the Forrest County Jail as the investigation continued. Police indicated that more arrests and charges could be pending as they continued to look into the circumstances surrounding Morris's death.
