On the morning of November 18, 2024, a dispute in West Baltimore turned deadly, claiming the life of 40-year-old Marcus Holloway. The incident unfolded around 9:12 a.m. in the 1900 block of Edmonson Avenue, where a Shot Spotter alert prompted a police response. Upon their arrival, officers discovered both Holloway and another 45-year-old man suffering from gunshot wounds.
Both men were transported to a local hospital, where Holloway was pronounced dead.
Investigators determined that an argument had preceded the shooting, culminating in a man producing a handgun and firing at both victims before fleeing in a vehicle. The suspect was later identified as 45-year-old Antonio King. Surveillance footage from the area captured the altercation, showing the shooter arguing with the victims, retrieving an item from a black GMC SUV, and then shooting both men at close range before driving away.
The day after the shooting, on November 19, 2024, Antonio King was arrested at a residence in Woodlawn by a team that included Baltimore police, Baltimore County SWAT members, and the Regional Auto Theft Task Force. King, who was described by police as a 'repeat violent offender,' was subsequently charged with first and second-degree murder, attempted first and second-degree murder, assault, and multiple handgun violations. He was held without bail.
In July 2025, a jury found Antonio King guilty of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, and firearm use in a felony or violent crime, among other charges. On October 20, 2025, King was sentenced to life in prison plus 35 years for the murder of Marcus Holloway and the injury of the second victim.
