In a quiet DeKalb County apartment complex, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of one-year-old Jontavious Powell. The young boy, who had just celebrated his first birthday in August and was beginning to walk, was found deceased on a Saturday evening in what authorities have described as a heart-wrenching murder-suicide. The devastating discovery was made when officers conducted a wellness check at the Vineyards at Flat Shoals apartments.
