On December 12, 2024, at approximately 11:40 a.m., officers from the Vidalia Police Department responded to reports of a shooting at the Vidalia Village Apartments located at 410 Randolph Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Timothy Byrd, a 31-year-old resident of Vidalia, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Byrd was promptly transported to Memorial Health Meadows Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
